Remember years ago when Hilary Klinton claimed there was a vast Right Wing Conspiracy? I still have my Rush Limbaugh mug with that phrase on it.
Now, I know that she didn't really believe this. She's too smart to believe something so absurd. A conspiracy of that magnitude would require control over key elements of society to ensure total domination. Conservatives don't have control over the media, the entertainment industry, or the school systems. No, those things are firmly the domain of liberals. Welcome to the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy. Now, the liberals will label me a wacko for this, which is totally understandable. It's common for liberals to call people crazy when they disagree with their ideas (or call them racist, whichever). Anyway, just go with me for a minute on this one. Here are the steps I propose the liberals will take (or are already taking) to ensure their total and complete domination of the political process:
- vastly expand welfare programs - Social welfare programs have been anywhere between 19% and 21% of the Federal budget under all previous administrations, Democrat or Republican. Under Bush, it was 20%. Under Obama, it's 25%.
- increase the number of citizens who don't pay taxes to promote dependence - According to official government statistics, 49.5% of Americans don't pay taxes. 25 years ago, in 1984 (during the Reagan administration, by the way), that number was 14.8%.
- assist illegal immigrants to vote - Illegal immigrants aren't citizens, and therefore shouldn't be allowed to vote. However, liberals have come up with some creative ways of providing back-door voting priviledges to them, such as amnesty programs, sanctuary regions, and normalization (such as granting them driver's licenses).
- thwart attempts by honest legislators to stop voter fraud - We have to show identification to by alcohol, pay with a credit card, or rent a car. Any voter ID program I've heard of provides free IDs to anyone who can't afford it, and the process is extremely simple. Why is it that requiring an ID to vote amounts to disenfranchisement? Well, because it makes it more difficult for Democrats to cheat.
- facilitate voter fraud through "community organizing" - ACORN is a perfect example of this (although who knows what their new name is since their scandal a few years ago). Busing homeless people to the polls, and even to other districts, and offering to feed them in exchange for their vote is not getting out the vote; it's fraud. But they get away with it anyway.
- pay-for-vote programs - This is a similar tactic to the above, but it's usually used with young, first-time voters, like older high-school students.
- voter intimidation in conservative districts - We saw this in Pennsylvania in 2008: Black Panthers members stood silent in para-military uniforms holding night sticks, in front of voting facilities, in predominantly white, conservative areas.
- selectively prosecute voter fraud and voter intimidation - In the above case, the Obama Administration decided not to prosecute the offenders, because... well, they supported his cause.
- intentionally biased media polls show artificially inflated Democrat numbers to discourage conservative voters - Studies have shown that the vast majority of all polls over-sample Democrats. Sometimes it's intentional, especially in media polls like from the Washington Post or the New York Times. (see this post for more info - "Polls are (Mostly) Hogwash").
- obstruct the largely conservative military vote by making absentee ballot procedure more restrictive - Military voters are overwhelmingly conservative, and a good portion of them spend time overseas, making voting more difficult. This is a no-brainer for Democrats.
- rig debates with liberal moderators and liberal questions to discredit the Republican - Last night's Town Hall debate with Candy Crowley was a perfect example. Pretending the crowd was undecided is almost as laughable as the moderator's blatant bias.
The ultimate goal of this plan is quite simple: to seize and retain power in all areas of government for the Democrats indefinitely. Once this goal is reached it would be virtually impossible to elect a Republican to any office. Thus, liberal utopia would be achieved.
It's not really all that far fetched, if you think about it... but I try not to.
